QUT PLT Negotiation Competition 2021
Attention all law students! Our most popular competition is just around the corner! The Negotiation Competition is the perfect way to dip your toe into competitions through the law school while you’re here at university, or to just boost your resume. This is one of our most popular competitions because it requires no prior experience and no preparation. It is the perfect competition to get started with!
Who: Students of all experience levels are welcomed to participate in the Negotiation competition. If you have not yet completed the LLB103 - Dispute Resolution course in your degree, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! We will be hosting a Negotiation workshop on Tuesday 9 March (Week 2) to cover everything you will need to know about tactics that will help you to negotiate your way through a problem. All students are welcomed to attend the Negotiation workshop. If you do not have a teammate, that is okay! We will connect you with another single competitor.
Where: Your team will be allocated a team to negotiate against, and both teams will be given a room on campus to head to on the night of Round 1. Only competing teams and the judges will be present in the room in round 1 (don’t worry, there are no spectators watching and judging you until the final).
Key dates:
Sign up: by Thursday March 11 in Week 2
Preliminary rounds: Monday 15th, Tuesday 16th and Wednesday 17th of March in Week 3
Semis: Monday 22 March in Week 4
Finals: Thursday 25 March in Week 4
If there is anything else you are curious about, please feel free to come along to the negotiation workshop. Alternatively, you can email the comps team at internalcompetitions.officer@qutlawsociety.com
